Scores of people from all walks of life thronged Ibenga Girls Secondary School on Saturday 9th September 2023 to commemorate 60 years of its existence.
The colorful event was preceded by match past led by the boys Brass Band and the well decorated Majorettes. The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ndola graced the occasion and presided over Mass. The last activity was entertainment in the afternoon which were so thrilling and left our lungs hanging out and lips cracked due to too much laughter.
Several eminent persons were awarded for their distinguished service and contribution to the school during the period it has been in existence. Those who have already died were awarded posthumously including the founder of the school Bishop Mazzieri and the first headmistress of the school a named Dominican Nun (MTSRIEP).
I must commend our mothers the Alumni of Ibenga school for the wonderful preparations of the event, the school Management for the leadership and particularly the school head Sr. Estella Kasonde who was so meticulous.
Congratulations to Ibenga Girls Secondary School once again for the Golden Jubilee. Continue with excellence as you influence our girl children academically, spiritually and socially.
